Second Blount's Creek man in a week charged with pedophilia


    On Aug. 30, 2010, the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office received a report from the Beaufort County Department of Social Services involving a sex offense that occurred in the Blount's Creek area.

    The Sheriff's Office began an investigation, reviewed evidence and conducted interviews. During the investigation, the Sheriff's Office received another report involving a sex offense that occurred at the same location.

    On Apr. 4, investigator Wesley Waters presented the results of the investigation to the Grand Jury of Beaufort County. The Grand Jury returned six True Bills of Indictment charging James Edward Clemmer, age 18, of Core Point Road in Blount's Creek, with four counts of First Degree Sex Offense with a Child, six counts of Indecent Liberties with a Child, and two counts of Attempted First Degree Sex Offense With a Child.

    On Tuesday, Clemmer was arrested by the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office and held in the Beaufort County Detention Center on a $100,000 secured bond, set by Magistrate Bruce Smith.
